Laughing Stock 72 Hour Comedy Film Competition
November 20 - December 4, 2009Films Talk Entertainment is proud to present the first Laughing Stock 72 Hour Comedy Film Competition in Vancouver, B.C.! In partnership with The Comedy Network, Films Talk Entertainment brings laughter and light to this rainy city with Canada’s very first 72 hour comedy film competition.
Comedy is a tough genre. Making a film in 72 hours is just plain crazy. Making a short comedic film in 72 hours? That’s something else. Armed with coffee, instant noodles and funny ideas, on Friday, November 20th, comedic hopefuls will scurry off into their creative caves only to emerge 72 hours later with the best comedic short film ever!
Comedy fans can attend the Full Screening of all completed short film submissions on Saturday, November 28th at Granville 7 Theatre – 855 Granville Street, doors open at 11:30 a.m. The winning team will receive $1,500 and bragging rights at the Gala Awards night on Friday, December 4th at the Caprice Night Club – 967 Granville Street. Also up for grabs is the $500 Best Director cash prize, and more than $4,000 worth of donated prizes from industry sponsors.
Advance tickets for the Full Screening and Gala Awards nights will be available as of Saturday, November 21st at Biz Books for $12. Tickets at the door are $15.
The best short films will be available for viewing on the “Upload Yours” page of The Comedy Network’s website thecomedynetwork.ca and showcased to comedy lovers across Canada.
