Biz Blog:
DVDs Help the Medicine Go Down
Filed under: catherine lough haggquist, media, videomaticaFrom Fred Lee’s column in last Wednesday’s edition of the “Vancouver Courier”:

“Graham Peat’s Videomatica capped off its 25th anniversary celebrations by giving the gift of movies to people living with cancer. The Fourth Avenue retailer kicked off a December pledge to donate previously viewed DVDs to patient viewing libraries in Vancouver, Kelowna and Victoria. Videomatica asked Lower Mainland movie lovers to collectively multiply the donation. With the help of co-sponsors Biz Books, Pacific Cinémathèque, Vancouver International Film Centre, Festival Cinemas and the Vancouver Courier, the pledge drive garnered over 150 DVDs. The stockpile was presented to Leonard Schein, the founder of the Vancouver International Film Festival and chair of the Canadian Cancer Society, B.C. and Yukon Division. Wishing to donate your own DVDs? Kindly drop them off at Videomatica.”
