The Biz Books 2014 Year in Review
It’s been an exciting journey at BizBooks.net in 2014. Here’s a look back at some of this year’s highlights.
MOVIES
It was a great year for movies and in 2014, we supported films across all genres and studios.
Among the films we supported this year were Top Five, The Gambler, Interstellar, The Theory of Everything, St. Vincent, The Best of Me, The Judge, Men, Women & Children, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hercules, Lawrence & Holloman, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Fed Up, Down River, Cheap Thrills, Labor Day, and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.
Thank you to the Biz family of customers for entering our contests and attending screenings to show your support for new films.
INTERVIEWS
Our interviews this year included Rupert Wyatt (The Gambler), Thor Diakow (Breakfast Television Vancouver), Taylor Hill (Leap 4 Your Life), Jim Gordon (CTV and The Travel Guys), Jennifer Copping (Good People), Ins Choi (Subway Stations of the Cross), Pippa Johnstone (The Rainmaker), Paul Armstrong (Lawrence & Holloman), Dakota Daulby (Black Fly), Suzanne Ristic (Poor), Laura Adkin (I Wanna Date U), Daniel Arnold (Lawrence & Holloman), Charie Van Dyke and John Craig (New Image College of Fine Arts), Robert Salvador (Espresso), Derek Lee and Clif Prowse (Afflicted), Ben Ratner (Down River), Maxwell McCabe-Lokos (The Husband), and Pat Kiely (Three Night Stand).
EVENTS
2014 marked our first foray into pop-up stores with BizPop.1 and BizPop.2 at Go Studios! We had so much fun that we’re excited to do more in 2015.
We also celebrated local industry events like Stage to Screen – In Conversation with David Auburn, Phrike FilmFest, and The Vancouver Actor Symposium and theatre productions like Hamlet and Poor at the Fringe and Subway Stations of the Cross, Espresso, and The Rainmaker at Pacific Theatre.
